The Conseil Interprofessionel du Bordeaux (CIVB) has launched a EUR6m (US$7.6m) publicity plan to promote Bordeaux wines until the end of next year. The campaign, created by GAD/Saatchi, consists of poster and press advertising, and will start in the UK, Belgium and Germany this November and December.

The former owner of an upscale Long Island wine business has been sentenced to one year in jail for defrauding customers out of $500,000. Federal prosecutors say 54-year-old Barry Silver of Kings Park was also sentenced to one year of home detention when he gets out of jail.
